Giylah Dance started with some enthusiastic young people dancing out on the lawn in the backyard. Six years later, it has turned into a passion for these young people to share with others.
The word “Giylah” in Hebrew means to be glad, delight, joy, joyful, to rejoice and to exalt.
In the Word of God, we are commanded, multiple times, to rejoice before our Creator. Psalm 149:2-4 says,
“Let Israel rejoice in their maker, let the people of Zion be glad in their King. Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp. For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation.” Dance is one way to praise God with our whole being.
Our vision is to encourage believers, no matter what level of dance experience, to join the circle and rejoice with us.
Hebraic, Israeli, Messianic, Circle and Davidic are just some of the names that this type of dance is called.
